Since the 1990s, Mark has authored four natural history books.

Excerpts and other original pieces have been featured in various anthologies among them a feature in The Cambridge Companion to Canadian Literature. In “The Companion” Mark’s book River of the Angry Moon is recognized as one of the most important pieces nature writing in Canada alongside such extraordinary texts as Alexander Mackenzie’s original journals.
